When You’ve Got It All

// November 28th, 2004 // 1 Comment » // General

I’m at home now, just gone up to work with Sara. I applied for a placement at Outokumpu, a metalwork company, in their Sheffield based IT department. Should be quite interesting and it seems kind of flexible in terms of what kind of work will be done too. Went in uni on Friday to get my SPCCS assignment handed in, then I stayed down a while longer to get some DWDS done. My parents came and picked me up at about half sevenish, so I got home at like half eight. Went to pick Sara up from work with my old ma, then went round to the Va Kei, which was as great as always.

Saturday we got up and went shopping to Derby, which was quite busy. Bought myself a Che t-shirt though, and got a xmas present for Micky. We stuffed ourselves at KFCs too (y). After we left Derby we went and bought a bottle of wine and went around to see Gemmas new flat. We ended up staying for a few hours, watching films and ordered pizza :) Then came around home at twelvish I think :)

Going to meet up with Tom later, probably go for food and maybe the cinema too! Then on Monday morning I’m gonna nip around to Mats and drop off the CD I brought up for him.

Spent the weekend doing work and being on the phone to Sara, going home this weekend, can’t wait to get home and see her :) . My C assignment is pretty much wrapped up now (y). I’ve applied for two placement vacancies at GlaxoSmithKline, which I think’ll be a really good placement if I get it. Working for a big, well-known company doing programming, web applications and related tasks sounds good to me, plus I’ll be working for the people who make Ribena ;)

Rubber Chicken

Not really done much the past two nights. Nick and Evv went home for the weekend last night, so there’s just Meggsy and I up here. Spent ages on the phone to Ar’ Lass while finishing off , Finished off our first PPSP assignment and handed that in today, that’s one down (y), not done much else really, sat in the bar with Rich, Nick and Aaron for a couple of hours talking. Came home and then went out for a walk to the post office, where i’m becoming quite well known, probably as “the eBay rubber chicken guy”, (P.S., if anyone does wish to purchase a rubber chicken that lays eggs for the cheap price of £2.85 plus postage (50p 2nd class) I’ll ship to anywhere, I accept paypal, cheques etc) A Rubber Chicken Laying an Egg

Made the most out of my new-found Monday mornings off yesterday by messing around watching daytime tv, before cracking on with some work. Went into uni during the afternoon and recieved another assignment, PED this time. It doesn’t look too bad at all – at least I don’t anticipate any problems. Got home and worked a little more before heading down to Asda where I bought forty bottles of VHF for fifty pence each, bargain (y) They don’t taste too bad, certainly not for the price. I apologised to Sara and made up throughout the day, which was obviously good. I think the arguments have practically worn out now, we’ll see though I guess. Nick seems to think it’s better that we argue because it “gets it out the way”, or something, and demonstrates that we can at least show our true feelings for each other. Hmmm (more…)

Up and Down

Lived this weekend like “proper” students (y). Takeaways, drinking, early morning to bed, and early afternoon to rise. Went for a takeaway on Thursday, got a balti from Surushi, first time we’d been there, it was quite a good balti, the peshwari naan, wasn’t as good as the Shumas though :( Thursday night we went walking for like four miles (via Asda of course) while discussing the human concept of time – which was quite fun, I like the discussions we frequently have, it stretches the mind. Just as we were emerging from Oxford Gardens we were stopped by the police. They searched us and took our details. It was kind of fun in a way, never been searched before – added a little excitement to the night. It was interesting to note the difference in attitude between the two constables, the WPC one seemed much more thorough, she sniffed wallets and asked about Asda purchases. The PC didn’t do any of those things and managed to search two of us in the time it took the WPC to do one. (more…)

19 Long Time

Well, not posted in a week – got stuck right into work, which is going ok for the most part I think. Spent last weekend up in Redditch staying at Nicks house, which was quite nice. It was a good weekend for the most part – bit of tension in the air at times because of people having relationship issues though. Ended up arguing with Sara again, jealousy and paranoia are not good bedmates (n). Luckily that’s all resolved now. Anyway I better get on with work, and looking for a placement.

Well What Can I Say I’m Back Here?

Went home at the weekend, Friday really dragged waiting to go home, I felt really excited but slightly nervous as well. Anyway I got a bouquet of roses from Sainsburys for Sara and packed the rest of my stuff up ready to go. My Mum and Dad picked me up, Mum had managed to direct the wrong way for a change (y). The journey back seemed really fast for some reason but it did take us the usual time to make the trip. Anyway come 2145 I walked up to the co-op, flowers in hand to meet Sara, completely embarrased her when I gave her the flowers :D . It was just so good to see her again mmmm. (more…)
